ONLY ONE GOD?? YES ONLY ONE!!
There definitely is only one God who is our Creator and Savior. There are not three or four or more gods out there who are creators and saviors, only one! All world religions have different ideas about god, creation and the after life. For example, Islam and Christianity can not both be right as many people would have you believe. Their doctrines are very different.
The Apostle Paul tells us about Jesus in his letter to the Philippians, chapter 2 verse 6: "Who being in the very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped." In other words, Jesus, God the Son, didn't expect us to completely understand all aspects of His nature. It is truly a mystery and much must be taken in faith. Paul continues in chapter 2 verse 10-11: "...that at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow in heaven and on earth....and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord....".
Jesus said about Himself in John 14:6: "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."
The Apostle John tells us about Jesus in John 1:1-14 "In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God...........The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us....".
The accuracy of the Bible has been challenged many times throughout history. It stands as the holy and inerrant Word of God. It is clear that the Bible states that Jesus is God Almighty.
Jesus the Christ fulfilled numerous Old testament (Jewish) prophecies, the odds of which are astronomical. Jesus talked about Love; Matt. 5:43 "You have heard that it was said Love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I tell you: Love your enemy and pray for those who persecute you." Paul adds: " Love your neighbor as yourself. Love does no harm to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law." These passages clearly indicate the life style all Christians are to follow. Jesus reminds His followers in John 15:20 "...If they persecute Me, they will persecute you also".
All of us will have eternal life. What is most important is where we will spend eternity? Will it be with Jesus in Paradise (heaven) or will it be in hades (hell)? God explains in the Old testament Isa.43:11 "I....am the Lord and apart from me there is no Savior". Further, in Isa.48:11 God states that "I will not yield my Glory to anyone."
God won't give the authority of Salvation or anything else to anyone. However, we read in the New Testament, Dr. Luke talking about Jesus in Acts 4:12: " Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name (Jesus) under heaven given to men by which we must be saved". Understand this, God did not give His glory of Salvation to Jesus. Jesus, God the Son, the Second Person of the Trinity, had the authority to save us from the beginning of time. Jesus is God, Creator and Savior.
When Christians pray to Jesus, God the Son, we pray that our enemy, whoever they may be, will come to have a loving relationship with Jesus. Per 2 Peter 3:9, Jesus doesn't want anyone to perish.
Should those who commit evil acts be punished? Of course, there must be consequences for their actions. By dying on the cross, Jesus paid for my sins and the sins of the whole world. He only asks that we come to Him, Rom. 10:9-10, "....if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God (The Father) raised Him from the dead, you will be saved". That means saved for all eternity.
The Muslims use the word Allah for God. Where did that word come from? Allah was the name of a stone idol worshiped by pagans in Mohammed's time. Mohammed's family member's last name was Allah out of respect to this idol.
Allah was the moon god and Muslims still use the crescent shape of the moon over mosques. Before Islam came into existence in about 600 A.D., pagan Arabs used to worship some 360 gods. Allah was just one of them. Mohammed and the Koran (Islam's holy book) say that there is only one god. He is correct there, and further, Mohammed never claimed to be a savior from sins, where-as, Jesus did claim and is the Savior of the world.
Let's look at a couple of passages in the Koran. The Spoils 8:13 The Muslim god Allah says: "Give courage to the believers (Muslims). I shall cast terror into the hearts of the infidels. Strike off their heads, strike off the very tips of their fingers. That doesn't sound very loving and forgiving. Also in Tables 5:51: "Believers (Muslims) take neither the Jew nor the Christians for your friends. They are friends with one another. Whoever of you seeks their friendship shall become one of their number".
As the wars continue around the world some Arabs want to kill all Americans, Christian or not, while other Arabs say both religions honor the same God. Their holy book, the Koran speaks for itself. We have shown that the Christian God and the Islam god are NOT the same.
I encourage you to look up a copy of the Koran at the Library
or a book store and investigate these passages as well as others. Christians
are directed by Jesus to: Go into all the world and tell people about Him (and
to love them). So, that is what we do!
