Millennium---1000 year reign of Christ
Pre-millennialism is the doctrinal system teaching that this age will end with the physical return of Jesus Christ to the earth when He sets up a kingdom that will continue for one thousand years. The belief in the thousand year reign comes from a literal acceptance of Revelation 20:1-10. Postmillennialists reject the idea of a literal thousand years. Their teaching is that the thousand year reign of Revelation 20 refers to a long golden age of unrevealed length, that this time is a continuation of history as we experience it today, and that Jesus will return at the end of this time—not at the beginning.
On the last day of the Tribulation, a tremendous upheaval of nature occurs. (Revelation 6:12-17; 11:13-19; 16:18-21). A "Great Earthquake" alters the shape of the Earth. The Two Witnesses, slain 3 1/2 days previously and left lying in the streets of Jerusalem, are "Miraculously brought back to life". Men actually hear God's voice as He calls the Witnesses back to his throne. (Revelation 11:7-12)
The World is thrown into tremendous "Fear" because this day..."shall not be clear, nor dark: But it shall be one day which shall be known to the Lord, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light." (Zechariah 14:6-7)
Jesus returns as the "King of Kings" and the "Lord of Lords" with millions of His Saints to battle against the Antichrist and his armies in the Battle of Armageddon. (Revelation 19:16,19) The armies of the evil one are destroyed in a horrible manner. (Zechariah 14:9,12) Satan is bound by an Angel and cast into the bottomless pit for 1,000 years. (Revelation 20:1-3)
The Tribulation's last day marks the 1st day of the Millennium. Jesus and His Saints rule over the nations which were not controlled by the Antichrist. Zechariah 14:16 reveals that within the nations controlled by the Antichrist there are people who have not taken his "Mark" nor "Worshipped the Image of the Beast."
During the 1,000-Reign of Christ, people will continue reproducing. On this last day of the Tribulation and the 1st day of the Millennium, the "Saved" remnant of Israel (Revelation 11:13) is gathered from its hiding place and the Tribulation "Martyrs" are resurrected. (Revelation 20:4)
The 1,000-year Reign of Jesus Christ is one of total "Peace" and "Righteousness," in which much restoration of the Earth takes place. The nation of Israel is restored to its original estate. (Ezekiel 36:11)
